“These establishments are highlighted as “New” on to help food lovers enjoy new discoveries before the full selection is revealed. While the list of Michelin Star restaurants in Las Vegas might be short (or nonexistent), there's a longer list of restaurants of the level and calibre commonly associated with Michelin Star restaurants.
The news was slipped last week into one of the guide’s occasional lists of restaurants that have impressed the Michelin inspectors (in this case, Southern California restaurants): The scheduled date is Tuesday, July 18, about seven months after the last ceremony. For 10 years before that, it was called LA/Ontario International Airport, so passengers wouldn’t. The star-studded event will be held, appropriately, at the Chabot astronomy center. In 2016, locals took over control of ONT from LAWA, the city of L.A.’s airport agency. Michelin released the first volume of its book in the United States in 2005. There have been some of the guide’s starred restaurants that have closed since 2009, but ten of the guide’s starred restaurants will still have three-star ratings by 2020.
“Oakland and the Bay Area boast a flourishing culinary landscape, and we are excited to hold the ceremony right in the heart of it all,” said Gwendal Poullennec, the international director of the Michelin Guides, in the announcement. The number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Las Vegas is currently unknown. The Michelin Guide International has dropped a surprise announcement:įor the first time, its annual California stars ceremony to honor restaurant excellence will be held not in recent host city Los Angeles or perennial host city San Francisco but in Oakland - a city renowned for innovative culinary concepts but home to a single Michelin-starred restaurant, the two-star Commis.
